Pikene på Broen participate in a discussion seminar “In a Borderland” that is held as prelude to the festival.

Pikene på Broen (Luba Kuzovnikova, Art Director) are invited to take part in a discussion with Jonas Gahr Støre, the Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs, which is a part of the project “Refleks – Norwegian interests in the globalized world”.

World Public Forum DIALOGUE OF CIVILIZATIONS.

The Kurdish Workers Party (PKK) attacked to a military post in the eastern Turkey on the 3rd of October. 38 people, Turkish soldiers and Kurdish militants, were killed in the clash.

Det er jazzen som kan notere seg historiens første norsk-syriske kultursamarbeid, når 14 norske jazzmusikere drar på nasjonal festivalturne i Syria. I bakgrunn finner vi kulturaktører med østlige fortegn og rundt 200 mil mellom postnumrene: kunstentreprenørene Pikene på Broen i Øst-Finnmark og Østnorsk jazzsenter i Oslo.

På torsdag, kl. 17:00, åpner Pikene på Broen utstillingen av anerkjente russiske kunstnere OLGA FLORENSKAYA (St Petersburg), IRINA ZATULOVSKAYA (Moskva), ALEXANDER DASHEVSKY (St Petersburg) og ALEXANDER FLORENSKY (St Petersburg).
Utstillingen er resultat av 2-ukers plain-air her i Kirkenes.
